Paint, Interior and Glass:

Paint is white with blue and gold stripes.  Rated 8/10.  Interior was done two years ago in dark blue and tan leather.  Very high quality leather with new foam and insulation.  Side panels, door and window posts were done as well as the headliner and glareshield.   The 5th & 6th seats were also done in the same leather and foam.  Rated 9/10.  Glass is also excellent with the dual pane tinted windows which cuts down noise and makes it cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Comments:

Having sold more of these President IIs than probably anyone else in the country (29 in last four years alone), this one is probably the fastest.  At 10,500', it will true out at 200 kts on 26 gph total.  At 75% power, it will probably do 210 kts TAS.  Very few of these have air conditioning, and even fewer which have the "Cool-Air" system which is the same system installed on some of the smaller Cessna Citations.  This unit puts out 1650 BTUs and is electric.  You can run it on the ground with the engines not running.  In comparison, the factory A/C systems on the new $1.3 million 58 Barons, are engine driven and put out 1400 BTUs.  With the dual pane, tinted windows, this Baron will cool off quickly.

The Winglets which hold 30 gallons of fuel are also fairly rare.  These tanks have their own pump which will pump fuel to the mains, once you burn some fuel out.  If you are happy with 190-200 kt speeds at 65% power or less, this plane will have an endurance of 6.5 hours on a fuel flow averaging 25 gph.  These winglets also provide an improvement in takeoff and landing distances, and speed and climb rates, especially at altitudes above 9-10,000'.  They also add stability, especially with yawing.

I have added pictures of the aluminum skin from inside the tail.  The wings look just as clean.   For the last 13 years, this plane has been kept in a humidity controlled hangar, and it certainly shows it.

At first I was disappointed in the autopilot as it didn't seem to fit with the rest of the avionics package.  To my surprise, dispite its age, it handles the plane very well and it is still supported by the factory with new parts availability, unlike the popular KFC-200.

This would be considered one of the older B55s to which the $150,000 President II conversation has been done on.  Age certainly doesn't affect this plane if it's been taken care of and has no corrosion.  The newer ones typically have a useful load about 200-300 lbs less than this one of this age.  The air and oxygen add about 150 lbs to the empty weight, yet it still has a useful load of more than most of the newer ones, at 1637 lbs.  There has never been a structural failure with any critical compenent with any B55.
