Comments

People keep asking themselves why they can’t come with a plane with automotive reliability, technology, and economy. Well the Twin Star is leading the way. Engines are 1.7 liter TDI (turbo diesel, fuel injected) made by Mercedes Benz and similar to auto engines in Mercedes, VW, and Audis.  Normal auto ignition systems except these have backup systems the autos do not have. Running of FADECs just like the autos which control the fuel mixture, prop RPM, and power settings with no reduced max continuous power limitations. The easiest twin you can imagine flying. One power lever controls everything. After takeoff, the only thing you need to do is retract the gear. No power change is required unless you prefer to. With the liquid cooling, rapid letdowns at reduced power settings are not that big of a concern. Gear down speed is 156 kts.  Once it's down, you can accelerate to 194 kts if you're in a hurry. The landing gear is trailing link and built like a tank.
With a stall speed of 56 kts, Vmc of 68 kts, Vyse of 82 kts; this twin is easy and safe to fly.  Normal approach speeds are 80 kts. As a matter of fact, the speeds are very close to a single engine Bonanza. The big difference is the Bonanza will cruise at 165 kts on about 15 gph, while the Twin Star will do it at 11.5 gph. Plus you get a much longer range, twin engine redundancy, known ice capability, and a true state of the art machine.
This Twin Star has always been maintained by the Diamond service center and is in like new condition. Feel free to call if you should have any additional questions.
