Paint, Interior and Glass
  • Paint is nearly like new done in 2004. All over very light cream (looks nearly white), with deep forest green and yellow stripes. Excellent condition even after 900 hours of flight.
  • Interior is original side panels and headliner in very good condition. The seats have been replaced with leather seats (seats 5 & 6 matching vinyl). Oregon Aero Visco Elastic foam is installed in the front seats which makes for extremely comfortable long sits. Seats are in good condition.
  • Glass is in very good condition with the dual pane G.D. Aero Inserts. The inserts are tinted in the rear side windows and lightly tinted in the front side windows. The inserts cut down on heat in the summer, adds insulation and greatly reduces the sound.
  • A very quiet and comfortable Baron. No air leaks in the door. Door hinges were recently rebuilt.
Comments

I have owned and sold a lot of Colemill 550 Barons, 12 in the last year alone. The owner of this one is the most fastidious aircraft owner you will ever find. He wanted it perfect in every way, and this one is as near to perfect as you will find. It is rigged perfectly, the injectors are so evenly balanced, you start to wonder if the engine monitor is working as all the temps read the same across all the EGTs. You can run this one 100 degrees lean of peak without any misfire or vibration. CHTs are never over 320 degrees unless you're doing something wrong. The Colemill 550s on the B55 give unbelievable performance. There are very slight differences in each plane. I've flown over 20 different B55 conversions, and this one is the fastest and smoothest! With the full deice, sat. weather, color radar, electronic charts and 550 engine Colemill engines, this is one capable airplane with cruise altitudes in the flight levels. Why would someone sell this airplane? The owner bought the only logical replacement, a Black Hawk converted C90 King Air which some call the same relative upgrade on the King Air as was done on the 550 Colemill converted B55 Baron.
