History:

This plane has been based in MD, W.VA, PA, and since 1996 in Colorado. From 2011 – 2019, this plane was in a hangar at KCFO (Denver) and not flown.  The owner during this time, had medical problems and was unable to get his medical back.  At this point I bought the plane after doing a thorough inspection including a boroscope which showed very little corrosion.  Mechanic said it looked like how the plane would look like if it was flown on a regular basis.  We did an extensive annual which included replacing most everything which was made out rubber and gaskets.  To date, I have flown it 32 hours with an oil and filter change and inspection at 25 hours and all was normal.  I also asked the mechanic to have an oil analysis done, but the mechanic forgot to send a sample in.  The plane has been flawless since it started flying again.  The engine is very smooth, no oil leaks, and low oil consumption.  In November of 2021, I had the Garmin 430W and Garmin SL-30 installed.

Comments:

The four color paint, interior, and glass all are in excellent condition.  There is some minor fiberglass cracks starting to appear on the top of the cowling.  Other than that, the paint looks nearly new.  Interior is also excellent, and windows are also like new.  Windshield is in very good condition with a few minor scratches.  The door fits tight with little air noise. True airspeed is 137-140 kts on 8-10 gph depending on weight and altitude.  Fuel is two 25 gallon aluminum tanks.  This is one of the few with a working automatic gear extension system which works.  It can be turned off with a lever next to the floor trim wheel if desired.  Plane is hangered at BJC which is 15 miles NW of Denver.
