About Us
Established in the early 80's as an aircraft ferry company for deliveries throughout North America and Europe, Mark Hegg, a.k.a. Hegg Aircraft, has gradually expanded into aircraft sales, acquisitions and type specific training. We have chosen to keep our business small in order to keep a balance with family and quality of life issues.
Most of our business involves buyer assistance in aircraft acquisitions. Our small sales inventory is comprised of aircraft we personally own and fly, or airplanes owned by others which we are familiar with. Most of our brokered airplanes in our inventory are planes we have sold or purchased for the current owner. We know how frustrating it is to travel half way across the country to look at an airplane which has been misrepresented. It has been our policy to pay your airfare if you feel we have misrepresented any aircraft we own. In the last twenty years, no one has ever taken us up on our offer. If you come to look at one of our aircraft for sale, you will probably be very pleasantly surprised.
Buyer assistance in aircraft acquisitions remains a major part of our business. We can do everything for you up to the point of your first eye contact with the airplane is when we deliver it to you. Or we can do as little as assisting you in any part of the search or purchase process. For someone to hire an unknown to do this for them is an exercise in confidence and trust. It has become a standard policy for insurance companies to require new aircraft owners to receive type specific checkouts in their new aircraft. The insurance policy will often require a certain number of hours to be flown in type with a qualified CFI before solo flight is allowed. We have a lot of experience in various makes and models and can help fill the gap between a "Simcom" or "Flight Safety" type training and your first solo flight in many advanced aircraft. This has been a relatively small portion of our business, but expect it to increase substantially with the introduction of the "very light jet" (VLJ) market.
